Two airports in Hainan have launched a trial operation of an electronic customs clearance mode for international logistics

In order to improve the level of cross-border trade facilitation and further optimize the customs clearance process of international logistics at Hainan Airport, Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce and Haikou Customs jointly issued the Notice on the Trial Operation of the Electronic Mode of International Logistics Customs Clearance at Hainan Airport (hereinafter referred to as the Notice).
According to the notice, Hainan decided to start a one-month trial operation at Haikou Meilan Airport and Sanya Phoenix Airport from April 13, 2023, requiring goods entering and leaving Hainan airport in general trade mode to be declared electronically in Hainan's "single window" airport logistics service system for international trade. We will comprehensively promote the electronic customs clearance mode of international logistics at Hainan airport ports. At the end of the one-month trial operation, paper documents will no longer be accepted in principle and will be fully transferred to the electronic customs declaration phase.
