Accelerate the distribution of overseas storage --

"Efficiency, throughput and safety factor have all made a qualitative leap"

At Port Oni, Nigeria's third largest port, local produce is stored in a United overseas warehouse. When the warehouse opens at 9 am every day, a large "Ding" shaped line has already stretched along the road in front of it. More than 100 trucks lined up in front of the gate. On both sides of the outer wall, local people neatly set up stalls with milk products, drinks and fruits, and also sold them along the road.

The overseas warehouse of Helian Port covers an area of 150 mu and is operated by Shenzhen Helian Supply Chain Management Co., LTD. In April 2021, the warehouse was specially designated as "Customs Supervised Warehouse" by the state government of Rivers, where the port of Oni is located. The Customs, port Authority and terminal operators all have office space in the warehouse. "Merchants can complete on-site customs clearance, warehousing and transportation of goods in the warehouse, opening up a fast and convenient 'one-stop office' service channel." 'said Hu Junkai, head of the overseas warehouse at the port of Hexioni, as he busily directed the loading and unloading of cargo.

In recent years, the number of Chinese enterprises in overseas warehouses has been growing. By the end of February, the number of cross-border e-commerce offshore warehouse companies registered with the customs had reached 1,713, providing a strong boost to the development of cross-border logistics. Domestic e-commerce export enterprises first deliver goods in bulk to overseas storage in the countries where they operate by sea, land, air and other means of bulk transportation. After local customers place orders, the ordered goods will be sorted, packaged and distributed directly from overseas warehouses, greatly shortening logistics time and improving consumers' shopping experience.

"In the past, goods had to go through all kinds of procedures at public docks, and it took one day and one night just to queue up. Now in overseas warehouses, goods can be unloaded at any time, and customs and port authorities can handle them at any time without any delay. The efficiency is really high!" Izanwaka Aimai, a local commodities trader, said that before the construction of the overseas warehouse at Waslianoni Port, containers were left in the storage yard and lost. "Now the management is very standard, access orderly, efficient and secure, don't worry anymore!"

At present, more than 400 Chinese enterprises have collected and departed from Hong Kong through Helian overseas warehouses. Ahiwa, deputy customs commissioner of Oni Port, said that the daily throughput of Oni Port used to be more than 1200 standard containers, and after the completion of Lianhai Outer Warehouse, the throughput exceeded 2,000 standard containers. "Now the efficiency, throughput and safety factor have all made a qualitative leap. I look forward to the port of Oni becoming an international port in the future." Ahriva is full of expectations.

Pakistan's Gwadar Port is also gaining strong industrial momentum through the construction of Chinese warehouses overseas. After taking over the operation and development of Gwadar Port in 2013, Hong Kong Control of China started to build Gwadar Free Zone, with overseas warehouse as one of its main functions. Linyi Mall Overseas Investment (Pakistan) Co., Ltd. is the first enterprise to enter the park in the Free Zone, with a warehouse center covering an area of 14,500 square meters in the south Zone. The person in charge of the company introduced that the warehouse center has storage, display, bonded processing and other functions. With the implementation of the tax exemption, more companies will move in and start operations in the free zone, "which will facilitate the function of the storage hub to reach all of Pakistan and even South Asia and the Middle East through Gwadar port".

"For many projects related to local economy and people's livelihood, such as wheat, fertilizer and liquefied petroleum gas, Gwadar Port has a significant geographical advantage to undertake warehousing and transshipment functions, and its cost is lower than that of Karachi and Qasim Port, which plays an important role in promoting the development of this region." Haji Razak, a logistics dealer in Pakistan, said Gwadar Port's function as a logistics distribution center has been further enhanced with the East Bay Expressway linking the port to the main highway in Gwadar.
